Most insulation companies are started by installers.
This one was started by someone who spent seventeen years on the other side of the material — inside PPG, in safety engineering, national sales management, and coatings chemistry. Dave Brocious spent those years watching good products get installed badly, and watching the manufacturer get blamed for it.
ClimaShield Spray Foam opened in 2019. Since then we have completed more than 400 projects across Western and Central Pennsylvania — houses, warehouses, pole barns, crawl spaces, and everything in between.

What I kept running into was the gap between the data sheet and the jobsite. A product is formulated to perform a specific way under specific conditions — substrate temperature, humidity, lift thickness, cure time. Miss those and it does not perform. The customer does not know that. They just know it failed.
So when I started this company, the rule was simple. We install to the data sheet, and we photograph it, so nobody has to take my word for it.

Why we install one product
Most insulation contractors carry five or six systems and pick one when they get to your house.
We spray closed-cell spray foam. That is the whole list.
It is a deliberate constraint, and it comes from the same place as everything else here. A crew that installs one product every day, in every kind of building, in this climate, learns things a crew splitting its time across five products does not. They learn how the foam behaves at 38 degrees in an unheated crawl space in March. They learn which substrates need prep and which do not. They learn what a bad lift looks like before the second pass goes on.
That knowledge is the product. The foam is just what we spray.
We do not install open-cell foam. In Pennsylvania’s climate zones, open-cell allows enough vapor movement through a wall assembly to create moisture problems we would rather not put our name on.
We do not install wall injection foam — the kind blown through holes drilled in siding into finished walls. Injected into a cavity that already holds insulation, it cannot fully displace what is there.

Who we work with
We are not a one-supplier shop. Two closed-cell systems are standard here — NCFI InsulBloc OPTIMAXX and Carlisle SealTite PRO HFO — and we hold relationships with BASF, Huntsman, AMBIT, and Rhino as well. We are BASF certified. We are also an SBA HubZone certified business.
That is not a bragging point about logos. Part of it is technical: our two standard systems have genuinely different strengths, and some assemblies favor one over the other. Part of it is simpler than that. Foam goes on allocation. Prices move. A contractor tied to a single manufacturer hands both of those problems to the customer as a delay or a change order. We would rather absorb them.
We are also an authorized Attic Systems dealer, part of the Contractor Nation network — which is where the insulated attic decking, the rigid kneewall board, the dehumidifiers, and the air purification equipment come from.
That combination is worth stating plainly: closed-cell spray foam is the only insulation we install, but it is not the only thing we do for a building’s comfort.
How we document a job
Every project documented with CompanyCam. Before, during, and after. All 400-plus of them.
This matters more with spray foam than with almost any other trade. Once the drywall goes up, the only remaining evidence that the right thickness went on the right substrate is the record of it going on. Most contractors do not create that record. We do, and we hand it to you.
